Dominican women's volleyball hit the road south to Point Loma as they faced off against the Sea Lions Wednesday night to begin PacWest play. Point Loma would end up winning this match 3 sets to 0, but the Penguins showed some fight in all three sets.
The Penguins would score 21 points in both set 1 and 2. They were led by freshman
Braenwynne Matthews who racked up eight kills on the night. The Idaho native is settling in nicely given that this was only her eighth collegiate game played.
Junior transfer
Camille Rivers continues to be a consistent force on the court for coach Deo Boongaling as she posted 12 digs and seven assists on the night. This match marked her fourth game this season with double-digit digs.
Sophomore
Avery Schneider recorded two aces, and junior
Ella Heckman was second on the team with five kills against the Sea Lions.
The Penguins will continue their road trip Friday Sep. 15
