Dominican women's basketball hosted CSU Dominguez Hills Saturday afternoon for a non-conference match-up. There was no coming out flat after Thanksgiving for the Penguins as they came out the gates fast leading to their fourth straight victory. Dominican ended the first period with the lead and never looked back.
Keyonee Neal dominated from the first tip as she had a game-high 18 points while collecting eight rebounds. The Rohnert Park native established herself on the defensive side as well swatting away a game-high three blocks.
The Penguins had 34 points in the paint, and senior
Olga Faasolo was a big reason why. Faasolo was in the game for nine minutes, but she terrorized Toro defenders going for 14 points on 6 for 9 from the field. Freshman
Adia Walker posted her best game of her young career scoring 11 points hitting 3 for 4 from long range.
Dominican once again had lots of support from their bench. Beside Faasolo and Walker, juniors
Mikayla Amoroso and
Andraya Perez had strong performances posting six and eight points.
Starting guards
Alaiyah San Juan and
Alex Salise were floor generals for the Penguins throughout this game. Salise dished out three assists while stepping back and hit two three-pointers while San Juan went for 11 points with three assists.
The Penguins look to keep the momentum going as they host Menlo College Nov. 28
th at 5:30 p.m.
