Dominican men's basketball hosted Saint Martin's University for their home opener Tuesday night, dropping 106 to 73. The Saints came in ranked No. 4/6 in Division II.
Senior
Garrett Siebels led the way for the Penguins as he went for 15 points and seven rebounds. Fellow seniors
Dale Currie and
Carter Plousha were right behind Siebels with 12 points each.
Saint Martin's came out on fire hitting shot after shot even though the Penguin defenders were all over them. Dominican tried to combat the lights out shooting from the Saints by pushing the pace, and they found some success.
Currie and Siebels each swiped a couple steals on the night, and looked to push the ball whenever they could. The Penguins ended the night with 10 fastbreak points.
Junior
Brendon Johnson provided a spark off the bench with nine points while knocking down two from behind the arc. Fellow junior transfer
Conner Turner posted his best game as a Penguin collecting eight points while dishing out two assists.
Dominican hosts No. 5/11 Chico State Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
