Dominican men's lacrosse placed seven players onto All-WCLL teams headlined by Cole Ramsay receiving the WCLL Defensive Player of the Year and head coach
Samuel Vogel-Seidenberg being named the WCLL Coach of the Year following the program's most successful season in the MCLA.
"I'm really proud of these guys and this team, we have a special group this year and it is great to see them honored for their success," Vogel-Seidenberg said. "I'm very happy for all of these guys and our team, I am also very happy for Cole as he put his everything into this team. I'm honored to be named coach of the year and couldn't have done it without my amazing assistant coaches, the captains, and the team as a whole. I am only as strong as the group around me, surround yourself with great people that will make you better."
Vogel-Seidenberg guided the Penguins to a 7-7 overall record while taking second in the WCLL North Division. Dominican had multiple highlights to its season knocking off ranked Oregon and Santa Clara teams during its regular season run. The team also made its first appearance in the WCLL Quarterfinals as it took on Santa Clara falling 11-10. He becomes the first Dominican coach to earn Coach of the Year honors from the WCLL.
Ramsay led the Penguins defense this season with 71 ground balls while adding three goals and two assists on his way to earning the conference's top honor for defensemen. Ramsay's award was the first ever player of the year level honor for a Penguin and he was also named to the All-WCLL First Team.
Noah Gibson was named to the All-WCLL Second Team as a long-stick midfielder ending the year with 63 groundballs, six goals and two assists. Joining Ramsay and Gibson among those on the all-conference team were Ryan Dickson, James Walker, Zach Dickson, Ethan May and Ray Sugiyama who all received All-WCLL Honorable Mention status. This is the most players Dominican has placed on the all-conference teams topping its six selections in 2015. The Penguins will look to build on their success as six of the seven selections will return for the 2023 campaign.
