Coach Mana helps Iroquois Women's National Team to gold medal

AUBURNDALE, Florida – Dominican women's lacrosse coach Joseph Manna helped assist the Iroquois Women's National Team to a Gold Medal at the Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) Sixes Cup this past weekend, with a 17-9 victory in the Championship Game against Puerto Rico.

The Haudenosaunee were absolutely dominant during the weekend, ending the tournament with a point differential of plus-84. The Nationals beat Argentina, Columbia and Puerto Rico on their path to gold. Manna was part of the staff of head coach Liz Belville (Lemoyne University) along with assistant coach Naomi Walser.

"It was such an honor to share the sidelines with these women. We had an incredible staff, and a roster filled with current NCAA talent from programs like Syracuse, UConn, Albany, etcetera. Lacrosse has given me a ton of opportunities, but this was among the most special"

This was the program's first championship in any international competition, but is only preparation for what lies ahead for the Iroquois nationals. Manna will join the program again October 23 and 24 as the Nationals will head to Sparks, Maryland, to participate in the "Super Sixes" tournament hosted by USA Lacrosse. They will play a two-game series against both Team USA and Team Canada.
