Dominican bests Urban Knights to earn its third victory over the Academy of Art

Dominican's starters combined for 75 of its 81 points as the Penguins earned their third win over the Academy of Art this season by a score of 81-76.

The two teams traded baskets and the lead for the entire first half as neither team saw a lead that couldn't be erased in three or less possessions. Christian Futch game Dominican its largest lead with 7:56 remaining in the first half, but it would be the Urban Knights that saw its greatest advantage of the half when a Stefan Milivojevic 3-pointer put the Academy of Art up by eight with 3:12 remaining.

Dominican immediately changed the narrative of the first half by going into the locker rooms on a 13-0 run and with a five-point lead. Christopher Williams buried one of his game-high four 3-pointers to start the run for the Penguins, followed by Jordan Williams draining a deep ball of his own after Romeo Mays tallied a block on the defense end. Christopher Williams II connected on Dominican's third straight shot from beyond the arc on the team's next trip down the court before a pair of Jaelen Ragsdale layups gave Dominican its lead heading into halftime.

The Academy of Art came out of the locker rooms and immediately erased Dominican's lead before the two teams traded baskets for the ensuing 10-minutes. The Urban Knights saw the largest lead during that time when Luka Radovic laid the ball in on a fast break to put his team up by six, but Dominican immediately snatched the lead back with an 8-0 run.

Dominican saw another large run late in the game when they outscored the Academy of Art 10-2 over a 2:59 span, eventually helping it earn its third victory over the Urban Knights as the scoreboard read 81-76 when the final horn sounded.

Ragsdale led all scorers with 25 points while four other Dominican players — Christopher Williams II (18), Futch (14) and Jordan Williams (11) — also earned double-digits in points. Romeo led Dominican with 10 rebounds, while Jordan Williams added six assists to his stat line.

The Penguins and Urban Knights will face-off in their sixth and final matchup of the season tomorrow night at 6 p.m. PST.
