SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Dominican women's tennis fell 7-0 Tuesday afternoon to Biola at Castellucci Family Tennis Center.
Amber Del Rosario led the Penguins (1-4) on the day as she took the first set of No. 2 singles 6-1, but Brooke Fager won 6-2 in the second and then took the tiebreaker 10-3 for the Eagles (5-2). Del Rosario and
Zoe Coggins also paired for the best doubles match of the day for Dominican as they led early 3-2, but Colbeyshae Emery and Mary Brasicia came back for the 6-4 victory for Biola.
Brooke Fager and Lilly McNeill also won in doubles for the Eagles, a 6-0 victory to take the team point into singles. Emery kept the momentum going for Biola with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in No. 1 singles, while Ines Diaz won 6-1, 6-0 on court six for the 3-0 lead in the team match. Brascia won the clinching singles match on court five, a 6-1, 6-2 victory over
Zoe Coggins.
Dominican will head out of state to take on PacWest newcomers Metro State and Colorado Mesa. The Penguins begin with a match against Metro State Thursday at 2 p.m. MST at The Regency Athletic Complex.
