SAN RAFAEL, Calif- Dominican women's soccer beat Saint Martin's University 1-0 with a golden goal in overtime to improve their record to 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Kennelly Field.
Alyssa Ramos and Dominican's defense continued their hot start, holding the Saints scoreless throughout the match and recording their second shutout of the season. Ramos improved her record to 2-0 as she made two saves as Dominican's backfield contained SMU to just six shots. The Penguins controlled the ball for 60% of the match and countered with 15 shots with five on frame.

The Penguins began the game on an offensive push as freshman forward
Tanya Bills created two opportunities early in the match that left her one-on-one with the keeper, but Ali Campigotto denied both attempts.
The Penguins got back to work quickly in the second half as senior midfielder
Yasmine Angel let go of a shot the top-left corner of the box that met the underside crossbar in the 55th minute, but the ball bounced in front of the goal line.
Katie Bianchi attempted a put-back in front of an empty goal, but was called offsides. In the 84th minute the Saints threatened the Dominican backline for the first time of the half with a corner kick that landed in front of the right post, but Ramos was there to punch the ball out of the box and allow Dominican to clear.
Dominican will look to improve their record as they travel to Chico State University Thursday at 4 p.m. PDT. Live video and stats will be available online.
