Diaz named WBCA All-American

ATLANTA – Senior forward Natalie Diaz added one more postseason award to her brilliant career as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) selected her to the WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention Team for the second consecutive year.

"Natalie earned all the accolades she has received," head coach Tim LaKose said. "I'm happy she is receiving recognition for what she has accomplished, and grateful for all she has done for our program."

Diaz finished her season as the No. 2 scorer in the nation at 26 points per game after a fantastic senior season in which she led Dominican women's basketball to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA West Regionals. Her scoring average broke the Pacific West Conference's all-time single-season mark set by Latoya Wily of BYU-Hawaii of 25.6 points per game.

She was named to the D2CCA All-America Second Team earlier this week and was also selected as the PacWest Player of the Year for the second time as well. Diaz is also a fantastic student off the court as she was selected to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Third Team. Diaz finished the season with 10 30-point games and one 40-point game this season.

Diaz ranks in the top-100 nationally in four other major categories: blocked shots per game (76th, 1.46), double-doubles (37th, 12), field-goal percentage (88th, 48.6 percent) and rebounds per game (76th, 8.8).

Diaz finished her Dominican career as the program's all-time scoring leader with 1,924 points, which is third all-time for the PacWest. Diaz scored the second and third most points in a single season in PacWest history as a junior and senior.
