OAKLAND, Calif. – Dominican women's tennis recorded its second consecutive sweep with a 7-0 victory Friday afternoon over Mills College at Meyer Tennis Courts.
Freshman
Alexandria Rogers and junior
Sierra Shackelford paired for the first time in doubles for a 6-0 win in No. 3 doubles over the Cyclones' (0-2) Britta Decuir and Al Wong. Sophomore
Taylor Lim and freshman
Ofelia Lopez Camarena sealed the doubles point for the Penguins (2-2) with a 6-0 victory on the top court, while senior
Alex Wartenberg and senior
Michelle Li completed the sweep with a 6-0 win on the second court.
Shackelford took the first 6-0, 6-0 victory of the singles portion of the match with Li, Rogers and Wartenberg following quickly behind by the same score. Lim defeated Ashley Tesmer 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles and Lopez Camarena completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory on court three.
Dominican will head to Southern California next week to face Cal State LA at 1 p.m. PST Saturday, March 9, at the Cal State LA Tennis Complex.
