NAMPA, Idaho — The Dominican University of California women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, a 3-0 loss to Central Washington.
The Wildcats (4-0) scored in the 15th minute on Kaysha Darcy's one-touch from 16 yards out off of the pass from Lexsi Mannings, who played the ball from the left side into the near post. Central Washington added another goal in th 22nd minute in transition when Whitney Lowe scored from 25 yards out. A Penguins own goal in the 24th minute made it a 3-0 game by halftime.
Dominican (0-1-2) was outshot 18-10 with CWU launching 11 shots on goal. Dominican had four shots on frame, a pair from
Ivy Torres and one each from
Stephanie Pawek and
Bri Rodrigues.
The Penguins will look for their first win of the season at Northwest Nazarene on Monday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. Mountain (2 p.m. Pacific).
