SAN DIEGO — The Dominican University of California women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss for the second time in as many games on Saturday at Point Loma.
The Penguins (1-4-3/1-2-1 PacWest) lost on a free kick from 24 yards out in the 75th minute by Rachel Witz. The Sea Lions (4-3-2/2-1-1 PacWest) outshot Dominican 16-3 and 7-3 on shots on frame. Freshman
Amber Mulligan's shot in the 13th minute was saved, as was
Michelle Li's shot in the 27th minute. Dominican's lone second-half shot came off of the foot of
Bailey Kiser in the 52nd minute and that attempt was also saved.

Alyssa Ramos made six saves in the loss. Ariel Oriarte made three saves and picked up the victory for the Sea Lions.
The Penguins will take a break from PacWest action on Tuesday, Oct. 4 with a 3 p.m. match at UC Santa Cruz.
