HONOLULU, Hawaii — The Dominican University of California women's soccer team got back into the win column in a big way on Saturday with a 6-0 PacWest victory over Chaminade in the Penguins' final match of a four-match trip to Hawaii.
Dominican (5-9-1/5-5-0 PacWest) kept the Silverswords (1-12-0/0-9-0 PacWest) winless in conference play with a bombardment of shots. Dominican tallied 26 shots, 15 on goal. The Dominican defense held Chaminade to four shots on goal.
Freshman
Lily Dubuc opened the floodgates in the seventh minute with her fifth goal of the season on a pass from senior
Stephanie Owens. Freshman
Bailey Kiser scored her first collegiate goal in the 32nd minute from eight yards out on a cross from Dubuc. Senior
Lauren Gollnick got in on the action with her third goal of the season, a successful penalty kick in the 60th minute. Dubuc added her second goal of the day in the 63rd minute on a pass from
Mariah Meza after the sophomore rebounded the ball off of the goalkeeper. Meza scored eight minutes later on a pass from Dubuc. Senior
Kayla Karlsson topped things off with her third goal of the season on a cross from
Samantha Owens.
Freshman
Gabriella Tassano improved to 5-7-1 in goal with one save in 67 minutes of action.
Sylvanna Islas tended net the final 22:46 and made two saves to preserve the shutout.
