IRVINE, Calif. – This week's PacWest Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week is Dominican University of California senior center Sarah Nelson. The awards is based on games played Nov. 17-23.

Nelson earned her second-career defensive honor by averaging 13.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game for the Penguins. The Clayton, California native nearly earned a triple-double in the win over UC Merced with 11 points, a career-high 17 rebounds, and a career-high eight blocked shots.

Dominican now heads to Sonoma State on Tuesday, Nov. 25 for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest.
