IRVINE, Calif. — This week's PacWest Men's Soccer Player of the Week is Dominican University of California senior midfielder
Vini Enriquez. The award is based on games played Oct. 20-26.
The Novato, California native led Dominican to its first two conference wins of the season by scoring the game-winning goal in each. In the first win over Hawai'i Pacific, he assisted the Penguins' first goal, then scored one of his own three minutes later, finishing off a three-player connection from 10 yards out. In the next game against UH Hilo, he provided all the offense necessary with an unassisted goal in the 41st minute. The five points on the weekend were his first of the season.
The Penguins will finish the 2014 campaign with three road matches beginning Thursday, Oct. 30 at Dixie State. From there, Dominican heads to Azusa Pacific on Nov. 1, then wraps things up on Nov. 8 versus Holy Names in Oakland.
