SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The Dominicanu University of California women's volleyball team was stifled on the road in three straight sets, 25-15, 25-4, 25-20, by Point Loma in PacWest Conference action on Friday night.
The Penguins were handcuffed by errors — 15 attack errors to only 18 kills, a pair of service aces, five reception errors, and a pair of blocking errors. In turn, Poin Loma posted a .390 attack percentage for the match, led by Heather Leavitt's 12.
Of the Penguins' 18 kills,
Aimee Steinwand recorded a team-high seven. That broke her streak of six consecutive matches with 10 or more kills.
Madeline Powelson and
Sari Kwan had seven digs apiece.
Samantha Rains, who entered play fifth in NCAA Division II in blocks (1.3/set) had two block solos and a block assist.
