Penguins and BYU-Hawaii Go Scoreless on North Shore

Erik Anderson notched his third shutout of the season in Tuesday's 0-0 tie at BYU-Hawaii.
Box Score LAIE, Hawai'i — The Dominican University of California men's soccer team battled for 110 minutes to a 0-0 draw in double overtime at BYU-Hawaii. The Penguins wrapped up their three-game Pacific West Conference roadtrip to Hawai'i with 1-0-2 mark.

The Penguins (8-7-2/4-7-2) had their first two scoring opportunities blocked, then placed a half dozen shots on goal thatt BYU-Hawaii keeper Trevor Lesueur saved, including a shot by Sam Vella in the 108th minute. Swap Mushiana also had a shot blocked in the first overtime period.

Dominican's defense did its part, working hard to force the Seasiders (4-7-3/3-7-2) to take just four shots on goal despite launching 19 shots on the day. Dominican goalkeeper Erik Anderson, who earned his third full shutout of the season, was there to make all four stops.

The closest the Seasiders came to scoring was a shot by Zak Epplette that was saved by Anderson with less than four minutes remaining in regulation.
