CBU Makes Journey to Dominican for PacWest Women’s Basketball Game of the Week

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — California Baptist travels to San Rafael, Calif., to face Dominican University of California on Saturday, Jan. 7 in the PacWest Game of the Week.

Each week during the women's basketball season, the PacWest will spotlight a game that will be broadcast live over the Internet.

The Lancers and Penguins will tip off at 5:30 p.m. (PST).

Saturday's game will be radio broadcast at http://radio.dominican.edu and a live video feed will be available at www.dominicanathletics.com/livevideo.

California Baptist is 10-1 on the season and has unleashed a 10-game winning streak since dropping the season opener.

The Lancers are 3-0 in the PacWest and tied for first place with Hawai'i Hilo.

The Penguins are 1-11 on the 2011-12 campaign and 0-2 in the PacWest.

A trio of players is leading the Lancers' offense with double-digit scoring – junior guard Myriah Hicks (Springfield, MO/Central), junior guard Simone Holmes (Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain) and junior guard/forward Brittney Lewis (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda).

Hicks, the latest PacWest Women's Basketball Player of the Week, tops the Lancers in scoring. She is averaging 14.8 points per game.

Holmes is contributing 12.2 points per contest, while Lewis is averaging 10.2 points per game.

Dominican sophomore guard Kayla Valentine (Chino, CA/Don Lugo) leads the Lady Penguins in scoring with her 9.9 points-per-game average.
