SAN RAFAEL, Calif — The Dominican University of California men's soccer team dropped another tough match on Monday afternoon, falling 2-0 to Notre Dame de Namur University in Pacific West Conference action.

The Argonauts (5-2-0/3-1-0), who outshot the Penguins (0-7-1/0-4-0), scored late in the first half on a Chris Arceo free kick. NDNU added an insurance goal just seconds into the second half.

Pedro Guevara and Tim Pinella attempted Dominican's pair of shots on goal.

Goalie Matthew Carlson made seven saves while allowing both Argonaut goals.

"It was unfortunate that we allowed a goal so late into the first half, especially after disrupting their play to that point," said Dominican Head Coach Jon Delano. "We're pretty banged up right now and we need to get to a point where we're at full health."

The Dominican men continues their search for that elusive first victory on Friday, October 1, when the Penguins travel to Belmont for a rematch with NDNU. Kickoff is slated for 11:30 a.m.
