BELMONT, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's volleyball team was competitive in another close Pacific West Conference match but ultimately fell in four sets, 22-25, 25-22, 17-25, 23-25, to Notre Dame de Namur University on Monday night.
Sophomore
Ashlee Sand and freshman
Jessica Jones each had 11 kills for the Lady Penguins (2-18/0-9). Freshmen
Ria Falealili and
Hannah Stocking added nine kills and eight kills, respectively. Junior
Cayla Morphew rounded out Dominican's offensive attack with seven kills.
Falealili also led Dominican with 20 digs. Freshman libero
Ashley Pittman dug out 13 balls and sophomore setter
Sarah Bain had a dozen digs to go with her 36 assists.
NDNU (4-11/2-6) was led by Christin Viallamayor's 23 kills and .444 hitting percentage. Alayna Caleai and Paulina Akiona each recorded 14 kills apiece.
Dominican returns home to San Rafael to face the Academy of Art University on Friday, October 22. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Conlan Center.
