BELMONT, Calif. — The Dominican University of California men's soccer team fell 4-2 to CSU San Bernardino on Saturday afternoon to drop to 0-2-0 on the young season.

By the 36 minute, the Penguins found themselves quickly behind 3-0 and limited to two shots. Dominican made adjustments at halftime and came out firing, scoring on one of three shots in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Domingo Ramirez put a long ball in play that found Garrett Mitchell, who in turn got the ball to Evan Cordova for his first goal of the season.

A CSUSB goal at the 83 minute pushed the lead to 4-1. Less than a minute later though, Pedro Guevara found Alec Ziegler, who headed the ball for Dominican's second goal, cutting the lead to the final score of 4-2.

Matthew Carlson allowed all three CSUSB goals but made six saves. Casey Gibson played the second half and allowed the fourth CSUSB goal.

Dominican will continue its search for the season's first victory against CSU East Bay on Sept. 7. The game will be played at Marin Catholic High School in nearby Kentfield. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
