Stephen Gould

Stephen Gould was hired as the assistant coach for Dominican women's tennis in August 2025 bringing a wealth of experience to the position. 

A Corte Madera native, Gould played collegiate tennis at the NCAA Division I level beginning at the University of Washington before transferring to the University of San Francisco to finish out his career. He served a team captain for the Dons as a junior and senior and competed at No. 1 doubles and singles. In 2022, Gould was awarded the USF Athletics Humanitarian of the Year award. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from USF which he hopes to use to help his players become their best selves both mentally and physically within their sport.

Gould has spent time as a personal tennis coach and trainer at various clubs in the Bay Area since 2016. He is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, College of Marin Certified Emerency Medical Responder and has served in the OVC TTAC Certfied Victim Assistance Program. In his freetime, Gould has taken up competing in triathlon's since graduation and has qualified for hte Ironman World Championships. He is a five time Ironman 70.3 finisher and a four time Ironman finisher. 

As a high school athlete, Gould was undefeated in No. 1 singles for Redwood High School serving as team captain for two seasons and helping his team win the 2018 MCAL and NCS Team Championships. He was named MCAL Tennis Player of the Year in 2019 while also being recognized as First Team All-America. He ranked as high as No. 4 nationally among high school players by the USTA and was No. 1 in both singles and doubles in the U18 division in Northern California. He also won the 2019 International Tennis Hall of Fame/USTA USA Junior Sportsman of the Year award.
