Mitch Davis

Davis became the newest Recreational Sports and Allen Sports Club Manager in August of 2025. Davis additionally is a part of the gameday staff for Dominican Athletics home events working with statistical input, livestream operations, and story writing. 

Before Dominican, Davis worked at Academy of Art University as an assistant athletics director of sports information. Davis was responsible for all functions involving sports information, media relations, game oversight and statistics, while serving as a contact for all 15 intercollegiate teams at ART U. In addition to maintaining the department's website, www.artuathletics.com, he created pre and post-game releases and other publications along with filming and editing video content for the department's social media pages. He also served as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

When not at Dominican, Davis spends his time at Oracle Park with the San Francisco Giants as a gameday Control Room Operator, working with audiovisual technicians with replay machines, cameras, audio boards, and scoring systems among other production devices. Davis also is a member of IATSE 119, working at professional sporting events for all Bay Area teams.

For the 2022-23 season, Davis handled all aspects of sports information in his year as a graduate assistant with Holy Names. In addition to recording live statistics, gameday duties, social media management, and content creation, he increased the Hawks’ live-stream revenue by 30 percent through improvements to their production across the board.

During his time at Sonoma State, Davis was heavily involved with the Seawolves’ Athletics Department, Studio Blue TV, and KSUN Radio. He oversaw visual, audio, and graphics for home sporting event live streams on the CCAA Network and was the general manager for Studio Blue TV/KSUN Radio, overseeing content from both media pathways while managing groups for social media, communications, music, etc. and working hand-in-hand with the department’s dean.

A filmmaker in his own right, Davis took part in projects that represented Sonoma State’s invitations to the Terminus Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival, winning Jury Awards in 2018 and 2019 along with an Audience Choice Award, NationWide Best Comedy, and nomination for NationWide Best Directing and Best Picture at Terminus.

Davis earned his master’s degree in Business Administration from Holy Names after finishing his bachelor’s degree in Communication & Media Studies with a minor in Film Studies at Sonoma State. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has been honored with the Alumni of Tomorrow Award as well as being named Student of Excellence, Graduate with Distinction, Magna Cum Laude, and Dean’s List.
