Abby Huffman volleyball assistant coach 2026

Abby Huffman

Abby Huffman joined the Dominican women’s volleyball staff as an assistant coach in August 2026. A San Rafael native and former NCAA Division I and semi-professional volleyball player, Huffman returned to a program with deep family ties, as both of her parents coached Dominican volleyball nearly 25 years earlier and were recently inducted into Dominican's Hall of Fame.

Huffman came to Dominican with more than seven years of coaching experience, including competitive club coaching in both Northern California and the United Kingdom. She worked with Marin Volleyball Club in San Rafael, assisting with the 16 Green team through practice planning, technical instruction and individualized athlete feedback. She also led conditioning sessions for the 16 Green and 18 Green teams and helped organize summer skills camps, open gyms and specialized positional training for middle blockers.

Before returning to Marin, Huffman coached with Cambridge Volleyball Club in Cambridge, England, from 2023-25. In that role, she worked with athletes ages 12-16, leading practices, skill clinics and scrimmages while developing structured training sessions focused on skill progression, teamwork and confidence.

Huffman’s playing background includes an NCAA Division I career at Siena University, where she was a standout front-row contributor and consistently ranked among the team leaders in blocks and hitting percentage. She continued her playing career overseas, competing for three seasons in the British Super League while also coaching and pursuing graduate study in the United Kingdom. During her time in graduate school, Huffman helped lead her team to a BUCS Division 2 national championship and earned MVP honors.

In addition to her volleyball background, Huffman brings experience in graphic design, branding and visual communication. She earned a master’s degree in graphic design from Cambridge School of Art after completing her bachelor’s degree in creative arts at Siena, where she graduated cum laude with dual minors in multimedia design and marketing.

Huffman’s combination of high-level playing experience, international coaching background and long-standing ties to Marin County adds a meaningful local connection to the Dominican women’s volleyball program. Her resume lists NCAA Division I playing experience, three seasons in the UK Super League, a BUCS national championship and MVP honor, and coaching roles with Marin Volleyball Club and Cambridge Volleyball Club.
