Coach Boyd joined the Dominican volleyball coaching staff in 2012 after coaching high school junior varsity for one season at San Rafael High school and a season of club volleyball with Marin Juniors Volleyball Club. While at Dominican, she has also worked as an assistant in the athletic training room, working primarily with the soccer and basketball teams.

A native of La Crescenta, Calif., a small Los Angeles suburb, Boyd played varsity volleyball for three years. In 2004 and 2005 she was recognized as a member of the All-Area team, and in her senior year was named team MVP. 

She played collegiate volleyball at Stetson University, a small Division I school located in Deland, Fla. She started at middle blocker during her four-year career, and graduated with honors in May 2010. In her senior year, she was one of three team co-captians and led the Hatters in blocks.

Upon graduation, she decided to move to Northern California to attend Dominican, and is currently working towards completion of her masters degree in Occupational Therapy. 

In addition, Boyd worked for a sports ministry organization called SportQuest for four summers from 2009 to 2012. This has taken her to Indianapolis, Ind., Belgium, and Egypt, where she has organized and facilitated sports camps for local children.
