Biography
2025-26: Chavez placed fourth at the Jessup XC Invite and recorded a 6K personal best of 25:11.4 while finishing 21st at the Pacific Invitational. She represented Dominican for a third consecutive year at the PacWest Championships, finishing 76th as the Penguins tied for 11th with 311 points. Chavez carried that momentum into the spring, lowering the school record in the 800 to 2:15.72 at the Payton Jordan Invitational and moving to second in program history in the 1,500 with a 4:51.34 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. She placed 12th in the 800 preliminaries at the PacWest Championships and joined LaNicia Ellis, Tatyana Robles and Ryan Nair on the school-record 4x400 relay that finished fifth in 3:57.39. Chavez earned Academic All-PacWest honors in both cross country and track and field.

2024-25:Â Chavez showed greater consistency during the cross country season, running all six meets and closing with a season-best 25:43.6 for 74th at the PacWest Championships. On the track, she lowered her 800-meter best to 2:26.19 and helped establish two of the program's leading relay marks. She joined the school-record distance medley relay that ran 12:53.91 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and was part of the 4x400 lineup that finished the PacWest Championships in 4:08.71, the second-fastest time in Dominican history. Chavez again earned Academic All-PacWest honors in both sports.

2023-24:Â Chavez made a major leap during the cross country season, improving from 30:01.5 in the opener to 26:45.4 at the PacWest Championships. During the spring, she recorded an 800-meter season best of 2:28.31 and joined Caytlin Capulong, LaNicia Ellis and Shulien Kemmler Liu on the 4x100 relay that set a school record of 49.96 while placing seventh at the PacWest Championships. She also helped the 4x400 relay run 4:13.86, now third in program history, as Dominican finished eighth with two points. Chavez received Academic All-PacWest recognition in cross country and track and field.

2023: Raced in the 200m and 400m as well as the 4x100 and 4x400 squads for Dominican track...Set personal bests at the Aggie Open on March 10-11 with times of 27.13 in the 200m and a team-record 1:00.21 in the 400m.
Before Dominican:Â Received the Workhorse Award in 2019 as part of the Capuchino High School track & field team...Named Rookie of the Year for the Mustangs in cross country in 2019...Won teh CCS Girls Varsity Basketball Championship in 2022...Received the Kirk Sandvik Award in 2022...Won the Go Go Award for track & field in 2022...Broke the Capuchino High School record in the 400 meter in 2022...Won metals from PALS for track in 2019.
