Cristina Visico was hired as head women's tennis coach in August 2016. During her time at Dominican, Visico has coached the most successful program at Dominican in its NCAA era. In 2018, Visico coached two players — Ricki Mae Torres and Skylar Schaar — that had national top-75 rankings during the season, while the 2018 team finished as the No. 7 seed in the PacWest tournament — the highest ranking ever earned by a Dominican team. Dominican tennis teams under the direction of Visico have earned ITA All-Academic awards for four years in a row.
Visico served as an assistant coach at Division I University of San Francisco from 2011-16 prior to Dominican. During her tenure, USF achieved its first-ever national team ranking in program history. The Dons were ranked as high as No. 39 in 2014-15, and finished second in the West Coast Conference that season. USF also featured the WCC Freshman of the Year in both 2012 — Andrea Ka — and 2013 —Thyra Taune.
Visico was a four-year member of the Cal women's tennis team, where she was the recipient of the Margaret Jesse Warren Tennis Scholarship. She was team captain as a junior and senior, and earned the Most Valuable Bear Award those two seasons. As a junior, her team reached the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships semifinals. As a senior, the No. 8 Bears were the runner-up for the 2008 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Team Championship. She finished her career with the Bears with over 100 match dual wins and as a two-time member of the Pac-10 All-Academic Team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies Field with a focus in International Trade Relations. After graduation, Visico served as a volunteer assistant for the Bears from 2011-2012.
A native of Long Beach, California, Visico has also served as a junior tennis director at nearby Marin Tennis Club, where she is in charge of the junior tennis program and summer camps. There, Visico coaches a leading club team in the JTT Marin Junior League, and also plays in the adult league at MTC. She has also coached in Massachusetts as an assistant tennis pro for the Nantucket Yacht Club.
