Greg Rahn became Dominican's head men’s basketball coach beginning June 2026.
Rahn returned to Dominican where he helped the Penguins women’s basketball team to several top finishes in the PacWest conference while building a defense that finished No. 13 nationally in steals per game and No. 23 in turnovers forced per game. Rahn helped develop Brittney Cedeno into the most disruptive defender in Dominican history as she finished with a career record 253 steals and a NCAA Division II leading 3.0 steals per game on her way to being named PacWest Defender of the Year. He left the Penguins to become an assistant coach at the University of San Francisco while also leading the Bay Area Phoenix in the Women’s Premier Basketball Association.
Rahn has experience in both the men’s and women’s game as he led the men’s team at Pacific Union College where he began his head coaching career at the collegiate level. Rahn led the Pioneers to never before realized heights on the men’s side as they won their first and only California Pacific Conference title with a 71-70 upset of Cal Maritime in the title game advancing to the NAIA National Tournament. Rahn left PUC after six seasons as the winningest coach with eight players having received all-conference honors. He has served in a variety of developmental roles at all levels of basketball and holds coaching certifications from FIBA and USA Basketball. Rahn served as a youth camp coach and skills trainer for the Golden State Warriors with players such as Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Jordan Bell, Damian Jones, Shaun Livingston and Zaza Pachulia. He also served as the head coach and director for the Bay Valley Generals in the AAU for 10 seasons and was an assistant varsity coach for Brea-Olinda High School for two seasons.
Rahn graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in business administration and has a master’s in sports administration from Arkansas State. A native of Pittsburg, California, Rahn holds deep roots in the Bay Area where he resides with his wife and child.
