Coach Nelson came to Dominican during the 2009-2010 season after assisting at William Jessup University for one year. Prior to that, he was assistant varsity coach at Whitney High School in Rocklin and also coached in the NorCal Elite AAU basketball program. An all-league player in high school in Gilroy, Nelson went on to play basketball at Gavilan College and Bethany University, where he earned a communications degree in 2007. At Dominican, Nelson organizes scouting reports and recruiting and serves as the team’s shooting coach.
Coach Nelson resides in Marin County and is married to Dominican assistant volleyball coach Katie Nelson, whom he met at Bethany.
