Dominican University of California Athletics

Joe Gron joined the Dominican University of California softball coaching staff in August 2026, bringing more than two decades of coaching experience at the high school and club levels.

Gron has spent 26 years coaching softball and has compiled 308 career victories at the high school level. During his career, he has guided his teams to six sectional championship appearances, winning three sectional titles. His teams have consistently competed at a high level while emphasizing player development, preparation and accountability.

In addition to his high school coaching experience, Gron has been a longtime fixture in the club softball community. He has coached the San Jose Sting 18 Gold program for 17 years, helping the organization compete nationally and earn numerous top finishes at premier tournaments.

Throughout his coaching career, Gron has focused on developing athletes both individually and as part of a team while building programs around hard work, consistency and a commitment to the game. His extensive experience in the high school and club ranks provides Dominican student-athletes with a coach who has spent more than two decades developing players and building competitive programs.
