Bob Perales

Bob Perales was hired September 2022 as the assistant softball coach for the Dominican softball program.

Perales brings an abundance of experience to the athletics department, headlined by his role as the Organizational Director, Director of College Services and Head Coach of the San Jose Sting softball club where he served for 23 years after creating the organization, an organization that has sent over 150 players to college softball programs, won national titles and earned several top-10 finishes in PGF, USA and ASA. Perales also adds experience in the NCAA realm as he held the roles of Director of Operations and Interim Assistant Coach at SJ State for three years.

A native of Santa Maria, California, Perales plated as a shortstop and pitcher at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, from 1985-1988 where he also earned a bachelor’s in Industrial Science. His daughter, Nichole, attended Ohio State University for her freshman season where she played softball for the Buckeyes before transferring to the Academy of Art and playing for the inaugural Urban Knights’ softball team in 2009. His youngest daughter, Frankie, played softball on scholarship for the University of San Diego.

In addition to softball, Perales enjoys fishing, golfing, wine tasting and grilling.
