Johnson-Truitt raced four times during the cross country season, placing 16th at the Jessup XC Invite and running an 8K best of 30:40.4 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. He transitioned to the 400 and 800 meters in the spring, lowering his 400 best to 53.55 at the Wildcat Invitational, the seventh-fastest mark in program history. At the PacWest Championships, Johnson-Truitt ran on Dominican's fifth-place 4x400-meter relay, which finished in 3:19.12 to rank second in program history and added four points to the Penguins' seventh-place team total. He earned Academic All-PacWest honors in both cross country and track and field.
