2025-26: Gerdeman opened his collegiate cross country career with a 28:30.6 over 8K at the Kim Duyst Twilight and placed eighth at the Jessup XC Invite. He represented Dominican at the PacWest Championships, where the Penguins finished seventh with 202 points. In track and field, Gerdeman steadily lowered his 800-meter time to 2:01.18 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, the fifth-fastest mark in program history, and ran 4:16.92 in the 1,500 at the West Coast Relays to move to seventh on Dominican's all-time list. He earned Academic All-PacWest honors in both cross country and track and field.

Before Dominican: Received hte Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.85 GPA or better for seven semesters at Sabino High School.
