Coach Hennessey had an impressive high school athletics career. He earned 12 varsity letters in football, basketball, and lacrosse at Cantebury School. He was twice named All-New England in football and earned the distinction three times for lacrosse.
He was a four-year starter at Quinnipiac University, where he earned a BA in Communications. Hennessey was captain of the lacrosse team in 2007 and was named All New England and All-Conference by the GWLL.
In Spring 2008, Hennessey joined the Penguins staff as defensive coordinator.
He is the son of Marty and Maureen, has an older brother Patrick, and two younger brothers, Jack and Daniel.
