2025-26: Chen established himself at the top of the lineup from his first collegiate tournament. He opened with a 68 and placed sixth at the RCA Electric Invitational, then tied for second at the Visit Stockton Invitational with rounds of 68 and 72 to earn PacWest Co-Player of the Week. A 67 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout was his low round of the season, and he added top-20 finishes at the Pioneer Shootout and Dominican Spring Invitational. Chen helped Dominican tie for fourth at the PacWest Championships before competing at the NCAA regional, completing a freshman campaign that resulted in PacWest Freshman of the Year and All-PacWest Second Team recognition. He also earned Academic All-PacWest honors.
