Keith Lai

Keith Lai came to Dominican after serving as the head coach of Bentley Upper School from 2015-19. He also spent time as the head coach at Valley Christian High School (2012-15) and of West Coast Elite (2018-19) before his time at Dominican. Lai played collegiate basketball for New Hope Christian College in Eugene, Oregon, and is currently finishing his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Cal Baptist.

A native of San Ramon, Lai led Bentley Upper School to the NCS D5 Runner-up, and was a Northern California Regional Semi-Finalist in 2017 while earning BCL-East regular season and tournament championships in 2016. He sent players to the University of Houston, Prairie View A&M and UC Santa Barbara, also assisting NBA players and potential draft picks in off-season and pre-draft workouts with Brandon Payne and Accelerate Basketball, a program based in North Carolina. As part of the team, he assisted players such as Stephen Curry, Damien Lee and Dennis Smith Jr. with their off-season workouts. He has also worked in preparing players for the draft such as Frank Jackson, Hamidou Diallo, Trae Young and Joel Berry II.
 
In his first season at Dominican, Lai was honored as a Top 50 Impactful Division II Assistant Coach by Silver Waves Media.
