Brandon Davis

A Dominican alumnus, Davis serves as media relations contact for the University’s 11 athletics teams. He oversees the Athletics website, media relations efforts, social media initiatives, statistics, photographic and video needs, branding guidelines, gameday operations for the department, and softball and women's tennis. He serves on the NCAA Division II Women's Softball Committee as the West Region Chair. He served on the NCAA Division II Women's Softball West Region Advisory Committee from 2013-15 and was appointed the national committee in 2016. Since 2013, he has served as the CCA Women's Soccer All-America West Region Coordinator (formerly Daktronics). Davis was responsible for the redesign and execution of the PacWest's logo refresh, with that logo going into use beginning the 2015-16 season.

Davis has been integral to the growth, visibility, and branding of Dominican Athletics, having launched
dominicanathletics.com, social media accounts, and live video coverage of home sporting events. He has helped implement a whirlwind of capital improvements, beginning with the addition of the John F. Allen Athletics Complex, home to Kennelly Field and the Castellucci Family Tennis Courts. Davis helped with branding and coordination of renovations to the Conlan Center weight room and scoreboards. He designed and helped oversee the construction of Penguin Field, home to women's softball, which opened in time for the 2015 season. He also helped update the image of Chilly the Penguin, who saw a more fierce-but-friendly look debut in January 2015.

In 2012, Davis was named Sports Information Director of the Year in the then 10-member Pacific West Conference, and became the first two-time PacWest SID of the Year in 2014-15. Davis has presented at the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) annual conference four times: on digital media in 2012, on statistics in 2013, on game day in 2015, and on Adobe Creative Suite in 2016.

Upon graduating with a BA in Digital Art, Davis assumed the role of SID and marketing assistant. He served as an assistant men's basketball coach for three seasons from to 2006-2009. As a coach, Davis helped the Penguins to another Cal Pac championship as the director of operations. In 2009 Davis stepped away from coaching to work on the department's successful transition from the NAIA to full NCAA Division II membership, which the University earned in 2012.

In the Marketing Department, Davis quickly worked his way up to junior graphic designer and transitioned to Marketing full-time as the University's senior graphic designer in fall 2008. He returned to also serving as SID in spring 2008 and split time between Marketing and Athletics until 2012 when he became full-time SID. He was promoted to assistant director of athletics for athletics communications in August 2014 and to his current role in August 2015.

While a student at Dominican, Davis served as team manager for the men's basketball team, which won the California Pacific Conference title four consecutive seasons and advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship appearances from 2002-2006. He worked in the University's IT department and as the assistant to the sports information director. As a junior, his 2004-2005 Athletics media guide earned fifth place from the NAIA SIDA. He was named sports information director in his senior year.

A native of the East Bay, Davis has been involved in the administrative side of athletics for a number of years. While he attended Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland, California. Davis was heavily involved in the athletics programs, where he served as assistant to the Director of Athletics and team manager for the men's basketball team. He coached CYO girl's basketball from his sophomore to senior seasons in high school and while in college coordinated AAU basketball tournaments in the Bay Area and in Reno, Nevada. He has served as the San Rafael Pacifics team photographer during the team's inaugural season in 2012 and as the club's director of public and media relations during the 2013 campaign.

An avid photographer, Davis has photographed numerous events, including from the sidelines of his hometown Oakland Athletics.
