Biography
2013: Named All-WILA Honorable Mention at defender… Inducted into National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma.
2012: Named to preseason All-Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team by InsideLacrosse.com. Played in 13 games, starting one. Led team in caused turnovers (9). Caused two turnovers and won two of four faceoffs vs. Adelphi on March 11. Recorded season-high five ground balls vs. Saint Michael's on March 15. Had an assist in win at Adams State on April 7. Named to WILA All-Academic team.
2011: Played in 13 games, starting nine. Third on team in face-off percentage (.350). Fourth on team in caused turnovers (9). Fifth on team in ground balls (38). Third on team in penalties (7) and penalty minutes (6.0). Named First Team All-Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association as long stick midfielder. Named to inaugural WILA All-Academic Team.
2010: Played in 11 games, starting nine as a freshman. First on team in caused turnovers (10) and third on team in ground balls (40). Led team in penalties (9) and penalty minutes (9.0).
Personal: Son of Susan Hee. Sister, Meiling. Member of TriBeta Honor Society and Chi Alpha Signa Honor Society. All-Marin County Athletic League for three years in lacrosse and two years as defensive end in football at Novato High School. Family heritage includes The Temple of Kwan Tai in Mendocino. Named after his grandfather and the temple. Dedicated to the Chinese god of war - a Taoist symbol of integrity and loyalty, the Temple of Kwan Tai offers living evidence of Mendocino's 19th Century Chinese community. Four generations of its founders' descendents have preserved this original Taoist temple, a site now recognized as California Registered Historic Landmark No. 927. In 2001, when Tai in 5th grade, he was part a "Odyssey of the Mind" and his team won the State Championship and went on to World competition in Colorado, placing 20th out of 50 teams in their category. Spent two summers as a child at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan playing the guitar. Each summer, young artists from around the world gather to learn, create and perform alongside leading artists and instructors. His first guitar was given to him by a neighbor who played with Johnny Cash.. He was known as "Black Jack Wayne. " Favorite thing when he was little were Ninjas who loved swords. Also took tap dance lessons as a child.
