Penguins celebrate program finish inside the WBCA Academic Top 25

ATLANTA – Dominican women's basketball was named to the WBCA 2024-25 Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the first time in the program's history.

"It was a historic year on the court and in the classroom," head coach Tim LaKose said. "This was a special group to coach, and I'm proud of their accomplishments. I'm also grateful for our faculty, staff, parents and all those who supported our team this past year. We couldn't have done it without them."

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

The Penguins compiled its best team GPA finishing with a 3.726 to rank No. 18 nationally in the NCAA Division II. Two other PacWest Programs ranked in the top 25 with Chaminade at No. 9 and PLNU at No. 17.

"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew.  "The 119 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts.
