Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Penguins hang on late, drop Grizzlies

ALAMOSA, Colo.- The Penguins opened their Colorado road trip with a bang, defeating the Grizzlies of Adams State 13-8. Freshman Chase Pacenta led the way for Dominican as he tallied five goals on the day . Pacenta was everywhere on the field for the Pengs as he caused havoc on the offensive side while also forcing two turnovers on the other side of the ball.

Senior Adrian Gilbert got the scoring started for the Pengs when he took advantage of a man-up situation and made the Grizzlies pay by calling his own number finding the back of the net. Pacenta would then join the scoring party as he scored three goals in the quarter with the latter giving Dominican a 5-3 lead, and they would never look back. The next two quarters Dominican outscored the Grizzlies 8-2 giving them a comfortable 13-5 advantage.

Junior Tanner Ennis continues to add to his strong 2025 campaign as he finished second on the team in scoring with three goals while also dishing out two assists. The Pengs as a whole flashed their unselfishness as they dished out eight assists.

On the defensive side, goalie Tristan Hunter made life tough for the Grizzlies coming up with a game high five saves. Senior Ethan May led the team with six ground balls while winning nine faceoffs while freshman Will Elfline led the way with three forced turnovers.

Dominican will now travel to Westminster March 30th at 1 p.m.
