SAN RAFAEL, Calif.- Dominican women's lacrosse wrapped up their home schedule with another match-up against the Flyers of Lewis University Thursday evening on senior day.
Brooke Vafi and
America Vizcaino were honored before the game with their friends and family at midfield for senior day. The Pengs were able to jump out to a big lead early on, and that early lead provided to be just enough as they defeated the Flyers 11-8.
The Penguin trio of
Olivia Johnson,
Morgan Newkirk, and
Kyra Evans led the offense today as they all finished with two goals apiece. Newkirk got the game started with a sweet goal taking advantage of a man-up opportunity, and then scored again midway through the first when Johnson fed her a nice ball which she capitalized for a goal. Â
Speaking of Johnson, her two goals came early in the second when the Pengs offense looked unstoppable. Dominican started the game scoring eight straight goals and went into halftime with an 8-1 lead.
