LA MIRADA, Calif.- Dominican men's basketball squared off against the Eagles of Biola University Saturday afternoon to conclude their Southern California road trip. The Penguins offense had three scorers in double figures, but that wasn't enough as Biola would end up winning this one 86-73.
The Eagles picked up the first points and never looked back as they would the lead throughout the whole game. Dominican's offense found some success after halftime relying on
DM Sanders to find some holes in the Eagles defense. The redshirt junior dropped a game high 25 points while knocking down four three-pointers.
Sargent Jeffery who was coming off a solid game Thursday night against Westmont, was right behind Sanders in the scoring department posting 18 points on an efficient 7 for 8 from the field. Dominican had 30 points in the paint this afternoon and Jeffery was a huge reason as his post moves were on full display.
Omari Davis who drew the start, rounded out the top three scorers for the Penguins going for 11 points to go along with a couple of assists.
The Penguins will look to get back on track as they return home Jan 23
rd to host the Sunbirds of Fresno Pacific at 7:30 p.m.
