Penguins celebrate senior day against Biola

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Dominican women's basketball team wrapped up their regular season with a home match-up against the Eagles of Biola Saturday afternoon. The Penguins fell short in this one 57 to 46, but their season isn't over as they have punched their ticket to the PacWest tournament next week in San Diego.

Jenna Duley, Ysobelle Eustaquio, Muirae Gomez, and Olga Faasolo were all honored before the game for senior day. Duley and Faasolo led the Penguins offense combining for 17 points. Duley led the team in three's knocking down three from distance while Faasolo was a menace on the boards hauling in a game-high seven rebounds.

Biola was clicking on offense early and often shooting 42% from the field for the game. The Penguins defense did manage to pressure the Eagles throughout the game forcing 21 turnovers and scoring 14 points off those turnovers.

Sophomore Keyonee Neal tried to help out Duley and Faasolo in the offensive department going for seven points and dishing out three assists. Freshman Adia Walker also posted seven points on the day which included a three late in the second half which kept the Penguins within striking defense.

Every time it felt like Dominican was going on a run, Biola shot it down with a well-timed bucket.

The Penguins will travel down south to San Diego next week for the PacWest championships starting Thursday March 7th as the No. 4 seed. They will face CUI in the first round.
