ROCKLIN, Calif.- Dominican men's basketball traveled up north Saturday afternoon for a PacWest clash with the Warriors of Jessup University. This is Jessup's inaugural season in the conference so the Pengs will be traveling up north more often. Dominican had four players over double digits in scoring against the Warriors, but it wasn't enough as Jessup was victorious in this one 79-62.
Redshirt sophomore
Sargent Jeffery led the Pengs offensively as he gave the Warriors fits all night going for 13 points while collecting nine rebounds. Dominican as a team found some success scoring down low posting 32 points and Jeffery was a big reason why.
Juniors
Darius Best and
Jorge Ochoa were tied for second on the team in scoring dropping 12 points each with Best dishing out six assists and Ochoa grabbing five boards. Best brings a unique versatility to the floor that the Pengs need. He can do damage both as a shooter and a facilitator like he did tonight leading the team in assists.
Jaayden Bush rounded out the Pengs in double figures as he finished the night with 10 points while collecting six rebounds.
Redshirt junior
DM Sanders has been solid off the bench for Dominican this season and today was no different leading the second unit with eight points. Sanders brings that long range ability to the lineup, and he showed it again against the Warriors knocking down a couple of treys.
Dominican will look to bounce back Dec. 19
th when they host Chaminade University at 7:30 p.m.
