SAN RAFAEL, Calif- Dominican men's basketball hosted the Golden Eagles of Concordia University Irvine Saturday afternoon. Due to numerous injuries, the Penguins dressed eight players for the game. That's a tough task for any team but Dominican didn't back down to the Golden Eagles.
Senior
Carter Plousha recorded his third double-double of the season going for 10 points and 10 boards. Plousha was an efficient 5 for 9 from the field hitting multiple jumpers and collected one block on the day.
Brendon Johnson led the way for the Penguins in scoring dropping 16 points while constantly driving to the basket forcing CUI to foul. The Montana native went 6 for 7 from the charity stripe to go along with seven rebounds.
Senior leader
Marcus McCutchen was right behind Johnson with 12 points on an efficient 5 for 6 from the field. The Penguins were happy to have
Nathan Ilunga back in the lineup with so many players being out. Ilunga was injured back on Jan 11
th and Dominican has really missed his presence down low.
Dominican will now travel down south as they square off against Point Loma Feb. 1
st at 7:30 p.m.
