Dominican dominates in 104-46 routing of Holy Names

San Rafael, CALIF. -- Dominican University of California (8-7, 6-2) earned its fifth consecutive victory after dominating both side of the floor in a  routing of Holy Names University (1-14, 0-7).

Freshman Keyonee Neal continued her impressive stretch of games as she earned a game-high 22 points, adding seven rebounds, a steal, a block and an assist. Junior transfer Olga Faasolo added a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, redshirt senior Brittney Cedeno contributed 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals while junior Rylee Sarasua tallied nine points in nine minutes of playing time.

Faasolo started the scoring with a layup just 14 seconds into the matchup. The sides trading baskets in the early going before Dominican pulled away with an 8-1 streak to end the opening frame. Holy Names snapped the stream on its first possession of the second stanza, but Dominican countered with a walloping 21-0 run to set the score to 41-14. A Hawks basket separated another Dominican run, this time a 9-0 streak. Dominican's final basket of the quarter came off the hands of graduate student Abreanna Lake as she earned her first points in nearly six weeks as she's fought the injury bug with her addition immediately being felt by the home side.

The Hawks earned their first back-to-back buckets halfway through the third quarter with the score reading 56-21, but a quick 9-0 run accompanied the consecutive scores. Freshman Amelia Brady earned her first bucket of the game from in-close with 2:57 remaining in the third, soon followed by five straight Ysobelle Eustaqio points over a span of just thirty seconds, with her final trio points coming from deep shortly before the end of the quarter as Dominican held a commanding 79-29 lead.

Junior Rylee Sarasua welcomed herself onto the score sheet just 88 seconds into the final frame with a layup before earning another just a minute later. Sophomore transfer Mikayla Amoroso earned her first bucket in nearly a month as she recovered from injury, adding a driving layup of her own with the help of a Sarasua assist. Freshman Salma Youngblood collected a hard-earned bucket as she drove the lane and buried a contested layup with contact, later finishing the three-point play from the foul line to give Dominican its 100th point of the evening. Sarasua earned Dominican's last bucket of the game with a shot from deep as Dominican earned its fifth straight win with a 104-46 victory over Holy Names.
