LEXINGTON, Ky. – Dominican women's volleyball claimed its second consecutive USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award on Wednesday as announced by the organization.
The Penguins have earned the award five times in its NCAA Division II history recording its longest streak of three between 2014-2016. Dominican posted a team GPA of 3.529 as it also helped the program win its 11th PacWest Academic Achievement Award.
This year 1,213 teams from high school and collegiate programs earned the award. The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
