SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Dominican women's tennis rolled to its second consecutive victory in a 7-0 win over American River College on Sunday afternoon at Castellucci Family Tennis Center.
Zoe Coggins and
Julia Rydel paired for their second consecutive doubles victory for the Penguins (6-4) as they dispatched the Beavers' (8-5) Jaycie Savage and Emily Cowen 6-0 to open the match.
Audrey Rafols and
Gina Dudley were close behind with a 6-0 victory of their own over Davina Escalante and Haley VanOrman in No. 1 singles as Dominican took the 1-0 lead into singles.
Dudley opened the singles not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Savage. Coggins added a 6-0, 6-0 victory of her own over Cowen as the Penguins continued to roll. Rafols secured the team victory for Dominican at No. 1 singles as she knocked off Escalante 6-2, 6-0.
Antoinette Schreiber was the next Penguin to earn a victory as she defeated Stacy Lee 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Haley Garcia then completed the sweep at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over VanOrman.
Dominican will head to Fresno on Tuesday to take on Colorado Mesa in a neutral site competition between PacWest schools at Haak Tennis Complex at 1:30 p.m. PDT.
