FRESNO, Calif. – Dominican women's tennis fell 7-0 Saturday afternoon to No. 22 Fresno Pacific at Haak Tennis Complex.
Senior doubles partners
Kaitlyn Nguyen and
Nicole Bermudez had the strongest showing for the Penguins in doubles as they pushed Alice Marques and Daimy Paula throughout the match but the Sunbird duo edged them out for the 6-4 victory. Lea Falentin and Mariia Borodii took No. 1 doubles for FPU 6-1 while Alice Di Matteo and Sanne Brull won No. 2 doubles 6-0.
Freshman
Zoe Coggins had the closest match in singles for Dominican as she challenged Brull throughout, but once again Brull pulled out the 6-2, 6-4 victory to keep the Penguins from claiming any team points.
Dominican will wrap up its regular season at home Saturday against Academy of Art at Castellucci Family Tennis Center at 11 a.m. PDT.
