The Academy of Art handed Dominican University its fifth loss of the season with a decisive 80-60 victory in Oakland.

Riley Friauf earned the contest's first basket with a layup 19 seconds into the game. This 2-0 Dominican lead marked the only time in the game that the Penguins found themselves with a lead as they chased the Urban Knights for the remainder of the matchup.
Lauryn Manns took back the lead for the Academy of Art with a mid-range jumper as the teams traded baskets for the ensuing minutes.
Julia Razo added a pair of points to her stat line with 2:36 remaining in the quarter, but it was ultimately the Academy of Art that took the advantage into the following frame, leading 17-13.
Friauf, much like the first quarter, earned the first basket in the second stanza with a jumper as Dominican aimed to keep within one basket of the Urban Knights. Neither team led by more than two possessions in the second quarter until a Brook Roger layup put the Academy of Art up by seven with four minutes remaining. The seven-point advantage would be the same lead that was taken into halftime as the Urban Knights led 38-31 at the middle horn.
Dominican came within one basket of the Urban Knight lead when Friauf connected on a layup for her 20
th point of the night with 2:15 remaining in the third, but a late run by the Urban Knights would see them take another seven-point advantage into the final break, leading 59-52.
The Academy of Art held Dominican to just eight points in the final frame as strong shooting increased its lead. Chanel Stuart checked into the game for the Urban Knights and connected on an astonishing six consecutive 3's as her hot hand made it near impossible for the Penguins to close the gap. By the end of the game, the Academy of Art walked away with a 20-point 80-60 victory with much thanks to her strong shooting.
Friauf finished with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds to give her another double-double, while Razo finished as the only other Penguin with double-digit points with 12.
